Are you getting enough sleep?
There is a myth that the older we get, the less sleep we need. We may not have the luxury to sleep till noon every day (like we did as teens), but there are many benefits to sleeping seven to eight hours per night, according to various studies cited by the AARP.
In addition to attributing sleep deprivation to dementia, depression and other diseases common among seniors, a majority of people over age 50 report that they don't get enough sleep, leaving them more vulnerable to heart disease, obesity, diabetes, fall-related injuries and cancer.
