Shavuot: Feast of Weeks
This Jewish holiday begins at sunset tonight, and commemorates the revelation of the Torah on Mt. Sinai to the Jewish people. It is celebrated seven weeks following the second Passover seder.
Traditional customs of Shavuot include:
Staying up all night to study Jewish texts in what is called a tikkun.
Reading the Book of Ruth
Eating dairy products
Decorating the home and synagogue with flowers
