Earth Day 2019
April 22nd is Earth Day, a worldwide event to create awareness and advocate for sustainability and the future of our planet. Earth Day Network works year round to solve climate change, to end plastic pollution, to protect endangered species, and to broaden, educate, and activate the environmental movement across the globe.
With climate change news a hot topic among politicians and activists, it is notable that many cities and states have enacted laws to combat global warming and global species decline. These include bans on plastic bags in New York (to become effective March 1, 2020), Hawaii and California.
There are many activities planned to raise awareness. including a multi-state "clean-up". For information on New York's Earth Day Clean Up, click here.
