Participate in National Women's Health & Fitness Day


Women’s Health & Fitness Day is the nation’s largest annual health promotion event for women of all ages. Held the last Wednesday in September every year, this unique national program boasts participation by local organizations throughout the U.S., and focuses attention on the importance of regular physical activity and health awareness for women. The event is similar in concept to its “sister” event — National Senior Health & Fitness Day — the nation’s largest older adult health promotion program held every May. Women’s Health & Fitness Day will also be part of a new National Women’s Health & Fitness Week, to be held annually the last week in September.

You may be able to participate in a variety of activities in the Greater New York City area, ranging from fitness classes including yoga, pilates, core fusion and zumba, to a series of mini‐ seminars on topics such as nutrition for children, healthy eating, fitness and wellness, and parenting. Check your neighborhood fitness centers, parks and recreations centers and health care organization listings for local activities near you.
